Jack Holmes’ career in transportation began in 1979 when he joined UPS as a package handler. From there, he continued to excel in the company and eventually served as President and Chief Operating Officer of numerous UPS locations before helping lead their largest-ever domestic acquisition, Overnite and Motor Cargo, now called UPS Freight. Beginning in 2006, he served as President and CEO of UPS Freight, one of the largest LTL carriers in the U.S. and a leading provider in truckload services until his retirement in 2016. Jack was appointed by Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood as Co-Chairman of the National Freight Advisory Council in Washington DC. He was subsequently reappointed by Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx. Jack also serves on the Board of Directors for Werner Enterprises, Redwood Logistics, LaserShip and LinkLabs. Jack, his wife Michelle and 3 of their 8 children reside in Richmond, Va and are involved in many charitable activities.
